Position Summary:
We are currently recruiting a full-time Center of the Plate (Protein) Category Manager. This is a dynamic position for the right “foodie!” We're looking for someone who has buying experience in a fast-paced environment and is looking for a new environment to grow. The primary purpose of the Category Manager is to educate our chefs, customers, and sales team about the specialty items while driving excitement around our products.

This position will work closely with the Marketing Department to ensure the Center of the Plate items are advertised and marketed correctly. A large part of this role will be conducting tastings, and educational presentations to our accounts and internal team!

Responsibilities:
• Maintain awareness of all protein specific product information, merchandise promotions, and samples within the company
• Owning all processes of protein buying and vendor relationships
• Negotiate pricing and purchasing with vendors and suppliers
• Build and develop relationships with suppliers, executive teams, and customers
• Support sales by providing education, training and demonstration of COP items, as necessary
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products
• Communicate customer special requests to executive team
• Additional duties as assigned

Requirements:
• At least three years COP (Protein) experience
• At least five years of food service purchasing experience
• Experience in procurement preferred
• Working knowledge of various proteins
• Ability to communicate with customers, vendors, and executive team
• Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work varied hours within a fast-paced environment
